Exclamation I have a question on the phrase "Estamos mejor aparte"

Does "estamos mejor aparte" translate to "we are better apart" or something similar?
    Also is it grammatically correct?

I'm not a native Spanish speaker but yes, I think in the context of a relationship between two people, it means "we're better apart"; however, I would use " estamos mejor separados (separated)".

As for the syntax and grammar, I will leave that for a native to decide.

Estamos mejor separados; es lo correcto, estamos mejor aparte; es un poco raro, depende de donde te encuentres puedes decir, no eres tu soy yo; no sos vos soy yo; despues de esa frase ya sabes lo que viene. Vamos a tomarnos un tiempo. Esta noche salgo con mis amigos.
