Rep Power: 59Jack has a spectacular aura about
Default "el mismo"

Dear Spanish Translators,

Time ago, I learned that I should not refer to certain noun already mentioned in the phrase as "el mismo".

e.g.: "Pase el perno por el agujero y luego enrosque la tuerca en el mismo".

But honestly I found everywhere I read..."el mismo"...

Thank you in advance,

Jack

Hi Jack,
That sentence is perfect. I cannot understand your doubt.

Hi Piru, thank you for your reply. I can't understand either, why some Spanish translators told me that the paragraph has bad style.

Regards,

Jack

la traduccion de la oración es perfecta. Mi lengua materna es español y en este caso "el mismo" ha sido utlizado correctamente.
saludos

Yo recomendaría no utilizarlo.

I could not agree more with RAE, Totalmente "el mismo/la misma" are unnecessarily used in a lot of context, when it is possible to replace them with a demonstrative pronoun like "éste" / "ésta" that suit the Spanish sentences much better.
Cheers!
