    Default Hoping for a little help?

    I undestand the first part and the last part of this line, but having trouble with the bolded ... can any one help?

    hay una reducción de plantilla y para no quedarme afuera
    tuve que volver a ser jefa a mi no me gusta pero no tengo opción

    To not get laid off, I had to return to being a manager (or I had to be a manager again.)

    Another option would be: In order to avoid being left out, I had to go back to being the Boss. I don´t like it, but I had nochoice".

    Hebe's example sounds a bit awkward, and so did my first post. You could omit "In order" and could just leave "To avoid." Although "left out" is translated literally, it does not fit with the sentence. Maybe use the expression "left out in the cold" or "being without a job"

    The company is laying off workers and to avoid being without a job (unemployed), I had to go back to being the boss/supervisor/manager/foreman. I don't like it, but I had no choice.
