Default Correct my mistakes, por favor.

Hello. I need help translating a children's story for a spanish project. Below is the English version and my attempt to translate it into spanish.

    English:
Once upon a time there was a coyote named Max. Max was very brave and courageous. He traveled across many mountains and valleys. He did this throughout his entire life! Ever since he was born, Max would climb hills and run through prairies. When he gets tired, he walks and walks. Max never stopped or quit. His journey was indeed a long one.

Then one day, Max became tired of traveling because of his old age. He decided that he should rest for his own sake. So, he stopped in a beautiful valley and saw a large tree. He was so tired and wanted to rest, but he did not want to sleep in the heat. So, he asked the tree, "Please open up so I can rest in your care."

The tree opened up so that Max could rest inside, then closed itself to keep him from the heat. Max slept for many hours. When he woke up he forgot what to say to the tree in order to make it open. He said wearily, "Open up, tree", but nothing happened. The tree did not open because Max was being rude and did not say please when he spoke to the tree.

Max banged on the tree as hard as he could to get out. The tree was too thick and hollow, however. A woodpecker came by to help Max by pecking on the tree. Surprisingly, it managed to make a hole before its beak became flat and bent. Max noticed the hole and began taking himself apart in order to get through it. He separated his legs, arms, head, and even eyes to fit in the hole.

When Max put his eyes through the hole, a bird saw them and quickly took them. It disappeared soon after. Without noticing what had happened, Max continued to put himself back together once he got out of the tree. Once he finished connecting his head back on his body, he tried to find his eyes. He could not find them. So, he put two rose petals in his eye sockets and kept looking for his real eyes. He did not quit.

A snail named Gary came by and saw Max looking around for his eyes. He asked Max, "Why do you have those rose petals inside your eye sockets?" Max said, "Because they are lovely. These are very special rose petals that give you good luck when you wear them." Gary became curious and asked Max if he could trade his eyes for the rose petals. Excited, Max accepted the trade and ran away with his new eyes.

Even today, Gary is still out there crawling around the valley, looking for his eyes.

    Spanish:

    Hi Razzlez,
I am sorry to tell you that it is a very bad google translation. If you really try your own translation, we can help you for sure!
Realmente, el destino del mundo depende, en primer lugar, de los estadistas y, en segundo lugar, de los intérpretes.

I agree with Sandra, those are typical Google mistakes.

    Nevertheless, the first sentence:
Había una vez un coyote que se llamaba Max.

    is right on the mark.
