Unhappy Coca-Cola?

I'm trying to translate "I like cherry coke"

Coke? Wait, what?

Me gusto coke de la cereza
Me gusto coque cereza
Me gusto ??

Confusing, slightly =P Help would be much appreciated.

Default Coca-Cola

Hola TechKat,

Yo traduciria:

"I like cherry coke" por: Me gusta la Coca-Cola con sabor a cereza

Aunque al ser Coca-Cola una marca registrada, quizas es mejor no traducir y decir: Me gusta la Coca-Cola Cherry

I definitely agree with Meri and her choices. However, another alternative would be to see if Coca-Cola offers Cherry Coke in the target market for your translation and use the name that Coke uses for its bottling. As a last resort, you could offer comething similar to "Me gusta la Cherry Coke (Coca-Cola con sabor a cereza)".

Best of luck.

Here in Argentina we use Coca, as a short for the drink and usually we say coca when we talk about any cola drink, like Pepsi too.
Sometimes in restaurants you say "I want a coca" and the guy brings a pepsi heheh.
