How do you translate "car pool" into Spanish??
I was sure there was an expresion...it seems to have slipped my mind, I hate it when that happens...

I agree with you Hebe, I think there is not a specific word in Spanish. Once I saw it as "transporte compartido"... how about that? I like it.

when there was all this stuff in the news, saying that people sharing cars would get some benefit in the freeway, they refer to them as ´conductores con un acompañante´... mm?

Hi Mem286, "Transporte compartido" encompasses pretty well the idea behind “car pooling” .. I like it too. Another option would be "convenio entre conductores comunitarios", but I this expression might not be suitable for some Spanish speaking country

I often heard in Argentina the expression "pool" meaning a mother who takes several kids to school in his own car one day, another mother the next day and so on.
