Hi there!
Does anybody know the technical term (probably of latin origin) that doctors use when your skin turns blue? (When extremely cold...)

�Will 'cian�tico' or 'amoratado' fit your text? It is usually used in medicine when skin turns blue with cold.

There's no special term that I know of, at least in English.

I thought cian�tico was used when you are turning blue due to lack of oxygen, but not cold. Amoratado might work better, but I would say just "pale/bluish/gray".

Your are quite right. I goofed. Cyanosis refers to slighty bluish colour of the skin due to pressure of abnormal amounts of reduced hemoglobin en the blood

Hola.
Cyanotic o cian�tico actually refers to decreased oxygenation of hemoglobin in the blood. One could have a normal hemoglobin but still be cyanotic.
En cuanto a la pregunta original...me parece que "amoratado(a) del fr�o" ser�a perfecto.

The word we use here is "morado" for bluish, when someone is cold, his lips/skin are "morados" (although morado is purple) "amoratado" is used to refer to the fact that the person has a lot of bruises...
Maybe it depends on the country???
