How would one best translate "The People oppose the motion," in a USA courtroom?

El Pueblo? Los Estados Unidos? La parte acusadora?

Va a depender del pais como se llame a la parte acusadora cuando se refiere al gobierno. En España cuando el gobierno es una de las partes en un juicio el nombre que recibe es "el Estado". Si quieres traducir el termino de una forma exacta dejar el Pueblo es una alternativa. Si es un texto juridico y va a ser traducido en un contexto juridico, es decir son documentos legales en traduccion, lo ideal seria adaptar el termino que se usa en cada pais que mas que probablemente no sea Estado como en España, sino que otros paises Latinoamericanos usen otro termino para referirse al gobierno cuando es una de las partes en un juicio. Si es un texto literario, el pueblo es la mejor opcion
