    Default email or e-mail?

This is old news, but I think many translators working in English have not heard about it yet!

So now you know. From now on we only send hyphenless emails.
    Cheers!

Haha Great! Now I'm in sync. I haven't ever used a hyphen.

I would not take whatever AP has to say for granted. It's far from being the old reliable company it used to be! I'd trust Merriam Webster better.

Well, Merriam-Webster are still using the hyphen, but I think they only do it to keep consistency with their own name! Hehe...

No, but seriously, I don't think the big technology companies (Google, Apple and Microsoft, to name a few) are still using the hyphen there.

I think they made the right decision. E-mail just doesn't feel right.

What makes you think so? Come on! It comes from a compound noun (electronic mail). Sounds like a bit lazy not to use the hyphen. There is a more philosophical dilemma behind this trend: the chance for texting to start ruining written language...

The truth is, hardly anybody uses a hyphen in English. Try googling e-mail or do a Yahoo search of e-mail. You will find that practically all responses are for email.

Thank you vicente. I´ve never been one to use the hyphen. What can I say it´s just not "me".
