Which is the procedure to create non-translatable paragraphs in a document so that they are skipped when using Trados?

I think you have to mark them in the style box, but I'm not very sure how you do this.....I've seen text in gray, or other colors in my translations and Trados does not process them but I'm not sure it's the colors....
I guess I haven't been of much help :-/
