Hi mrdobolino... I recently came upon a copy of "1000 Spanish Idioms". I too find it very interesting and useful. My only criticism is that he lists so many things, ie verb-prepositions combination - (such as decidirse A, acabar DE, referirse A) and other entries such as "cerca de" which are not idioms. This really surprised me.
I have a question for you all.... How would you best translate... "the bottom line"?
    Thank you for any help...

I saw that a member has already asked for the translation of THE BOTTOM LINE. but I think that my inquiry is in a different context, ie.

The "bottom line" is if he doesn't accept the new position, we have to fire him....

I also have to apologize if I don't submit my inquiries in the correct form because I find the format (ie. sending, editing) very confusing... HELP!!!!

    Hi Margozinha

What do you think of "en pocas palabras,en resumidas cuentas" o bien "al fin y al cabo·

Could also be "el punto final".

El punto final es que si no acepta el nuevo puesto tendremos que despedirlo.
