Default idiom for "on the hook"

Hello, first time posting here. I am translating a presentation and cannot find an equivalent Spanish phrase for "on the hook" as in to be responsible or liable for something. Gracias por sus pensamientos.

Hi, I think that "Enganchado" is a spanish equivalent for "on the hook", it make sense for a person (something like be in love with someone "Salvador está enganchado con Belén") or a job (something like be very diligent in a work "Pablo está muy enganchado con su trabajo") however, we can help you more accurately if you give more context.

    bye

I think that in a legal context, we would use the word "responsable". Not sure if there is a colloquial expression in Spanish to say that.
