Default "...se cargó el estilo de... " idiom?

What's the meaning of "cargó" in this context? Here's the relevant textual info:

... se cargó el estilo de interpretación de la austríaca, .... «Los personajes no le crecen, porque se le enquistan dentro"

He's putting down her acting ability, "cargó" here seems to have an idiomatic sense beyond mere "load" "carry" and so on.

    Any help appreciated,
    Thanks

You are right, bird, welcome to the forum

Cargarse algo = to spoil, to screw up, to break, to criticize

it all depends on the context.

Looks like somebody was acting and he or she didn't do a good job . or some kind of critique who criticised the Austrian's acting.

I guess it is the latter, as you are quoting what this guy said (??).
