    Default Spanish equivalent of Facebook verb "to friend"

    I'm not familiar with the Spanish language version of Facebook. Is there an equivalent to the new English verb "to friend?"

    "To fiend?" You mean "send to a friend?" Where is that option in Facebook exactly? If you can give more info, maybe I can help you
    Cheers

    I don't think we have a direct equivalent.

    To friend someone on fb = añadir/agregar un amigo a la lista de amigos de fb.

    When you'd say I want to friend you on fb, we have to use a phrase such as te voy a añadir como amigo en fb o añádeme a tu facebook.

    Also, to unfriend Facebook jargon gains credibility as Unfriend gets Word of the Year : MediaVision Blog : Search Engine Marketing

    Otro sinónimo de "añadir" es "agregar" que es muy frecuente en las redes sociales.
    Por ejemplo, si estas viendo el perfil de alguien que aún no es tu amigo, verás un botón con el texto "agregar a mi lista de amigos"
    Tambien en otras redes se usa la palabra "invitar" como sucede en Linkedin.
    Saludos,

    @cotty,

    Thank you. My instinct was to say "gracias por" but when I tried to apply the "rules" I though it must be "gracias para". This is very difficult for native English speakers. Perhaps I should rely more on my instincts.
