    Default mandar/enviar

    Te envié un email.
    Te mandé un email.

Are they the same? Is one better than the other? Is there a tendency to use enviar with things (Te envié flores) and mandar with people (Lo mandé para recoger el paquete)? Or are they pretty much interchangeable?

I do realize that mandar has other definitions. I'm only asking to compare the two verbs in terms of the definition "to send".

    Gracias de antemano.

There is no semantic difference. I think there may be a slight difference in register since enviar sounds a little (very little indeed) more formal than mandar but I can't think of a context where the difference could be point out.

    I agree with Clarab.
But I wouldn't use mandar in an e-mail or a letter because enviar is more formal, and I prefer it. But people do use it - mandar - and I use it too in the spoken language. (Peninsular Spanish).
    I suppose it's a matter of taste.
