Yes! It´s a text about sanitation procedures.

"...The authors found a very significant effect of irradiation temperature on the inactivation of Escherichia coli o157:H7, indicating that a dose of 1.5 kGy should eliminate 5.36 LOGS at 5ºC but only 2.64 logs at -20ºC."

Thank you

Hi,

LOGS refers to the logarithmic scale more precisely to the base 10 logarithmic scale. I believe in this case it should be in reference to the extent of sterilization that a filtration system is capable of under certain conditions,so the bigger the number the better the filtering system is for sterilizing a solution in reference to a particlar pathogen.

I would translate 5.64 LOGS as "5.64 log 10"

I would say directly logaritmos. "Elimina 5.36 logaritmos a 5º..."

Bye!!
