    Default LATAM Slang

    Hi all!!

I heard this funny expression "me vuela la nuca" and I was wondering what it means? Is it the same as to blow your mind?

Yes, I'd say it's equivalent to "blow your mind" or "blow you away".

Oh, and you could even change the last word and make it "me vuela la cabeza", or, even better, "me vuela la capelu".

Argentinian Slang "Lunfardo" for peluca, hair piece, or wig.

Other names for head as substitutions are: Croqueta, Mate, Craneo, rulero, cacerola, sifón, bocho, bocha, zabeca, testa, and other variants like the one mentioned being turned.

hahahahaha do they really use "mate" for wig? I thought it was a popular drink!

I'ts mostly refered to the head rather than the hair or wig on it.
And in this particular sense it means the shape of the Mate fruit that resembles a human head :

    There's a Spanish(Argentine) article about it:

This is getting quite extreme, if you ask me. So, "Me voló el gato"? Interesting, to say the least.

So, you could actually say "hey, what a nice cat you have over there!" and talk about one's wig?

    LOL, this is amazing!
