    At the time of the Celts, the year was divided into two seasons.
    Winter began on the 1st November : Samain,
    Summer began on the 1st of May : Beltaine
    These two major Celtic festivals, Samain on the 1st November and Beltaine on the 1st May, are now public holidays.

    I thought this was rather interesting ...

    (By the way, in Madrid it is also a holiday tomorrow, so we have a reeeeeally long weekend!!)
