    Default Planes a San Francisco

Summers in SF can be foggy and chilly and winters can be rainy. The best time to visit is in the fall when you are more likely to have sunny weather. I would recommend:
-taking a ferry boat from the Ferry Building to Sausalito
-watch the movie The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill Film) and then hike up the Telegraph steps and look for the parrots
-the Ferry Building shops and restaurants and farmer's market
-walk along the bay from the Ferry Building
-Justin Herman Plaza usually has a lot of interesting activity and is also near the Ferry Building and the Embarcadero Buildings, where you can do a lot of shopping
-the Land's End trail near the Sutro Baths and the Cliff House has beautiful views of the ocean
-Museum of Modern Art, Palace of Legion of Honor, DeYoung art museums
-boat ride to Alcatraz and the tour of the prison

    I'll keep thinking!

You might like to stay at Cavallo Point. Cavallo Point: San Francisco Luxury Hotels | Luxury Hotels in San Francisco: Sausalito Hotel, Sausalito California Hotels, Marin County Resort Lodging Look at the website to understand the historic significance of this place. It's right at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's quite expensive, but has amazing food and views and you can go on some incredible hikes starting from there.

If you don't want to stay there and like hiking I would suggest that you walk across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco and then hike the additional mile or so down to Cavallo Point and eat a light and affordable lunch at the Cavallo Point Tea Bar in the spa. San Francisco resort: Bradly Jacobs MD, MPH Excellent healthy California Cuisine (soups, sandwiches, and tea) in a delightful location that almost no one knows about.

There are also two other restaurants on the grounds with excellent food and good views if you're looking for a heartier meal.
