What would I use for the verb, "student teach" and then what would I use for "student teacher"? Thank you in advance for your help.

You mean what would you use in terms of translation into Spanish? Are you referring to a student who also teaches / helps teachers or who voluntarily coaches other students? Please post the complete sentence so we can help you find the appropriate term.

    Thanks!

Sorry, I'm new to these forums. Yes, I need it from English to Spanish. I work in the school system. I'm talking about students who come from the University to work with a teacher for a semester or so to earn credits to graduate with their teaching certificate. I guess it's kind of like an unpaid practicum.

Thank you. So, how would you say it in Spanish as a verb? Example: "She student taught at this elementary school".

then my translation wouldn't be correct for this context, since "ayudante de cátedra" applies to college/university level teaching. In your sentence, it would be something like this: "(Ella) realizó prácticas en ésta escuela primaria".
