Default tantalizing glimpse

In the 17 years since the theft, there may have been one tantalizing glimpse of the Rembrandt when unknown men brought a Boston Herald reporter to a warehouse where he saw what he believed was the "Sea of Galilee".

Hola, no puedo encontrar una traducción que me satisfaga.
¿Alguna idea?

En los 17 años que han transcurrido desde el robo, pudo haber habido sólo una vez la tentadora posibilidad de haber visto un Rembrandt cuando unos desconocidos llevaron a un periodista del Boston Herald a un depósito dónde éste creyó ver el “Mar de Galilea”.

PD: transcribo la versión que finalmente utilizé y que le agradó a mi profesora:
"En los 17 años que han transcurrido desde el robo, solo en una ocasión existió la esperanzadora posibilidad de reencontrarse con el Rembrandt cuando unos desconocidos llevaron a un periodista del Boston Herald hasta un depósito dónde éste creyó ver el Mar de Galilea."
