    Default held excused

Hola. ¿Cómo se traduciría "held excused" en la siguiente frase?: "No," I said, "I am certainly not likely to walk into matrimony with my eyes open, and I do not think any man can be held excused who drifts into it."
    Gracias y un saludo.

En este contexto held excused significa " pardoned; or forgiven". If one is held excused one is said to be pardoned, forgiven or not held responsible for an action.

    Hmm, rara la frase, no?

O sea: no se le puede responsabilizar a un hombre si se mete en el matrimonio sin querer...vaya frasecita

    Hi Exx!

I think this person is against marriage and it means that "I am not likely to get married, if I'm in my right mind" and "I think a man who does so casually, without thinking, has no excuse."

ahhhhhhhhhhh, then it means quite the opposite, great answer, Vicente

Entonces me inclinaría por: ...y creo que un hombre que se case sin pensarlo mucho/que se case porque sí no tiene perdón de Dios.

This was actually my first thought, but then I misunderstood what you said before, amigo Vicente
