    Default ****-eluting stent (DES)

Hi everybody, I'm working on a translation about ****-eluting stents and I have found that there are lots of translations, such as stent con elución de medicamento/droga/fármaco, stent liberador de medicamente/droga/fármaco, stent farmacoactivo, etc.
What's in your opinion the best translation for a client that requested a neutral Spanish translation?

    Hi Flavia,
I've read/heard this term in medicine text books and conferences as "Stent Liberador de Fármacos" and looking it up it is most commonly used as you'd be able to a lot more entries with that term than any other on any seacrh engine.

    Cheers!

    Glad I could help.
Something I find very useful when I cannot find a subject matter expert to consult to is to do a quick search on Google and see which term has the most matches as well as where those country matches are. It isn't ideal but it helps a lot when you have no other resource.

marielaer, you are right... Google is a great tool for us translators when we have to decide what term suits better for the language flavor requested by the client!! Thank you again!!

    Hola, chicas.

    Cordialmente.

    Amelia
