I'm just a gringa Spanish teacher trying to bring a bit of the authentic hispanohablante world to my kids.
Nothing to do with the company!!
A Yahoo is a legendary being in the novel Gulliver’s Travels (1726).
Yahoos are vile and savage creatures, filthy and with unpleasant habits, resembling human beings. The Yahoos are primitive creatures obsessed with "pretty stones" they find by digging in mud, thus representing distasteful materialism and ignorant elitism.
Of course, the company Yahoo appeared much later than this book and its name is an acronym.
But, according to the book Gulliver's Travels Yahoo is a "ñero".
