"comburente"
Came across this word as I was translating a poem. The full line is: Retribuimos el comburente que se quema mas rápido que la pólvora. " We remunerate(pay out? reward?) the ??? which burns as fast as gunpowder." The general content of the poem has to do with people becoming machines. The original is from the DR.
Never heard this word before, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Linda

Re: "comburente"
Hey Linda, actually "comburente" is the spanish word for the compound that ignites something else.
Like oxygen is the "comburente" of the air.
I can't recall how you can translate it.. Perhaps a native english speaker could.
Lets hope one read this.

Re: "comburente"
Thank you! I ended up translating it as "fuse". That really helped.

Thanks, I actually do, but I'm saving them all up so I'm not peppering the forum with questions.
