    Hola! ¿Escucharon alguna vez la frase: "Firme como rulo de estatua"?

    ¿Saben a que está haciendo referencia no? ¿Tiene traducción? No quiero una traducción literal pero si un equivalente para la frase. ¿me explico?

    I'm not sure if the meaning is the same, but there is a phrase that we say in English, it's "solid as a rock". But normally I think we use this phrase to describe someone's appearance, like for someone that really works out and has a lot of muscles you would say they're solid as a rock.

    I will do more research, but that is the first thing that came to mind.

    Muy bueno el ejemplo! Se utiliza cuando cuando algo es seguro, fuertemente afianzado, sólido como roca.

    Hi guys
    but the expression "Firme como rulo de estatua" doesn't refer to a physical appearance, right? It's more related to an attitude? Pim, can you explain a little bit?

    hace referencia a alguien que siempre está presente ya sea en el trabajo o en la casa. Nunca falta por eso se dice que está firme como rulo de estatua. También aplica a una postura física pero mi pregunta iba más allá de la obviedad.

    I don't know what your context is, but here are some possible translations: "He's always there (for me)." "He's always around."

    These are not colorful idioms like your expression, but they might convey the meaning.

    Saludos all!

    Actually the phrase "solid as a rock" can apply to almost anything that one wishes to describe something or someone as being exceedingly stable, dependable, faithful, efficient, trustworthy, honest, patriotic, reliable, etc.

    EX: The business is solid as a rock; When it comes to dependability he is as solid as a rock.; His faith in his wife is solid as a rock; Her reputation is solid as a rock;

    The phrase can also shortened up by saying "rock solid".

    EX: Can we trust her? Yes, she's rock solid!; That business has a rock solid reputation; As an employee he is rock solid.

    The phrase is common and has myriad applications.
