What CAT tools do you prefer? Do you think it has a significant impact on your productivity? Was it expensive, and how long did it take for you to use it comfortably? Thanks in advance for your responses. I am doing research for my translation company, I do not work for any software company.
I would recommend MemSource, a highly intuitive and user-friendly tool. It has different levels of comprehension (that is, you can some basic features that will serve the purpose, plus you may add more functionalities in case you need some more elaborate features). It works with floating licenses, so that you don't need to pay anything (neither software, nor membership) but to have the agency enabling you in their platform.

I can give you my point of view as a translator. In order to learn how to use Trados, I had to take a one-month course. It's not easy to learn and it's not very user-friendly. Of course, once you get the hang of it, the rest comes naturally. On the other hand, I work with Memsource now and I have to agree here with gentle. It's pretty straightforward and easy to use.
Regarding XTRF, I wasn't aware it had a translation software. I use it more for managing projects. At the beginning it can seem a bit complicated but once you get used to it it's actually a great help and saves you a lot of time.

I use Xtrf too. However, I have to say the integration with memsource is very basic, could be improved in many ways. MemoQ is pretty intuitive as well.;)Quote:
