Translating job descriptions help, por favor!
Not only is my Spanish very rusty, but I am trying to translate from the written notes of someone who seems to be a bad speller and doesn't have the best handwriting, so any help with piecing this together would be great! They are job descriptions of two jobs this man used to have:
The first job was at a supermarket and maybe has to do with cutting meat. The job title says something like "avarotes"? The description says, "Tener lomejo acomo dada los avarotes (?) y linpitodo."
The second job description just says, "Semural pinos, la var las cajas." Maybe it's supposed to be lavar? Wash the boxes? But what is semural??
/* It's almost secret code */
Spatulaciudad,
Here is my guess at the true text of the first job description.
"Tener lomejo acomo dada los avarotes (?) y linpitodo." ---Say what??????
would in fact be:
"Tener lo mejor acomodado los abarrotes y limpio todo."
With the attendant translation,
"To have the deli counter neat and tidy and to keep everything clean."
Re: Translating job descriptions help, por favor!
Ah, perfecto! There did seem to be some spacing issues in other parts that I translated, so I should have tried moving those around more. Muchas gracias!!
Any ideas on the other part?
Re: Translating job descriptions help, por favor!
Do you have anything else to go on - like the kind of establishment? Or maybe you could post a picture of the handwriting?
Re: Translating job descriptions help, por favor!
Hi,
Maybe I can help a little here.
My guesses are:
"Tener lomejo acomo dada los avarotes (?) y linpitodo."
Correct Spanish would be: "Tener lo mejor acomodado los abarrotes y limpiar todo", which in English would be: "Having the groceries best arranged and having everything cleaned", or something like that.
"Semural pinos, la var las cajas."
Correct Spanish would be (my guess): Sembrar (¿? not entirely sure), lavar las cajas", which in English would be: "Planting pine trees, washing the boxes", although I don't know what could be the relationship between planting a tree and washing a box... but I can't figure what "semural" means.
Hope that helps.
Re: Translating job descriptions help, por favor!
Sorry, been trying to figure out the "semural pinos" part but haven't been able to do it.
"separar los pinos"
"separar...."
help us out a little bit more...
/* Could the second job have been in a fish processing plant? */
If so,
"Semural pinos, la var las cajas"
converts to:
"Separar cajones, lavar las cajas."
