so total a creature of circumstances
Hola. ¿Cuál sería la traducción de la siguiente frase?: Dining out may seem a mere matter of chance, but I could not dine out if I once proclaimed myself so total a creature of circumstances as the dear delightful inhabitants of the London city of Prague.
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
"hijo de las circunstancias"
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
Hola, danield. ¿Me podrías decir cuál crees que sería la traducción de "if I once proclaimed myself"?
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
Hola Chicos
Dining out may seem a mere matter of chance, but I could not dine out if I once proclaimed myself so total a creature of circumstances as the dear delightful inhabitants of the London city of Prague.
- but I could not dine out if ... pero no podría cenar afuera si...
- if I once proclaimed myself (this): si alguna vez me proclamara/se ...
- Ahora ese (this) sería todo esto verdad?: so total a creature of circumstances as the dear delightful inhabitants of the London city of Prague.
Vayamos por partes a ver si sale...
Me gusta criatura para creature.
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
What I find curious is this: "...delightful inhabitants of the London city of Prague." What the heck does that mean?
I really do not like this author's style of writing.
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
Hola Vincent
Cómo estás? Sabía que te iba a encontrar acá! :)
Sí, coincido, es muy rebuscado, no?
Me falta entender bien esta parte:
so total a creature of circumstances as the dear delightful inhabitants of the London city of Prague.
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
Hola Analaura.:D
I'm sorry but I still don't get it.
Exactly what is a London city of Prague or la londinsense ciudad de Praga?
Is he trying to say that Prague is similar to London?
Poorly written, to say the least;)
You know it's bad English when even native speakers don't understand it.
Of course, I never understood Shakespeare either:o
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
London city of Prague or la londinsense ciudad de Praga
Re: so total a creature of circumstances
" Podría haber otra manera de interpretarlo? "
Entonces el autor queria decir "the Londonesque (londinsense) city of Prague". Asi tiene sentido.
