Hi Everyone!
As far as I know Tag Editor and Power Point 2007 are not compatible. Is anybody aware of any latest development that could have overcome this hurdle? Thank you all in advance! ;)

Well, as far as Im aware (hahhaha), itīs Oficce 2007 whatīs NOT compatible with Trados...
Save it into an older version and work the file with TagEditor. When you finish the translation you can save it back to 2007Quote:

Any other suggestion / comment?
Thank you Vizconde! The thing is that all text embedded in imagery with the SmartGraphic feature of 2007 (editable in 2007), becomes non-editable in 2003, and it is not picked up by Tag Editor. I will need Tag Editor to open the PPT 2007 directly and to recognize this editable text. Any suggestions?Quote:

try using SAVE US. That will allow you to save the ppt as HTML or RTF.Quote:

we discover that trados 2007 is compatible with PPT 2007, but not with previews version, you only need to open as "pptx" and not with ".ppt" extension. All text embedded with the SmartGraphic feature of 2007 (editable only in 2007), becomes non-editable in 2003, and it is not picked up by Tag Editor, but if you use trados 2007 and 2007 pptx you don't have any problem. :)
Next challenge ..... :D
Maybe you can help me with this .... :(
Problemas con el Power Point 2007 - 2003
Confirmed! Thank you all for your contributions! An additional comment: you need to open the PPTX (from Office 2007) with Tag Editor 2007 from Trados updated with Service Pack 2. To make this Service Pack work itīs better to uninstall Trados and reinstall it along with the Service Pack, otherwise you run the risk that not all features become updated. ;)Quote:

Thanks for the tip Rodrigo! The only thing translators need to be aware of is that Office 2007 makes your PC incredibly slow...so if you are in the midst of a rush...(as translators usually are...;) ), it's something to think about...
And wich is the other option? do it wrong or re do it after?Quote:

Well, no success on my side either.
I opened the PPTX and Save it As rtf and html format.
but, Iīm missing a lot of text.
In the rtf format, I have the same editable text that I got when I saved it as ppt.
In the htm format, I only get the titles, but with no content at all.
Am I missing something here? Anybody can help? PLEASE!
So far, I tried:
- Saving the pptx as ppt, rtf, htm
- opening the ttx done with trados 7 in trados 6.
thank you guys for your help
rgds
and this is the error message I get:
Filler definition not found: SDL Trados Power Point 2007. Filler 1.0.0.0
Failed to retrieve tag toolbar settings for plugin file format.
Iīve been googling this error with no success, nobody seems to have an answer about it.
Iīll go on searching and keep you posted. cheers
