no entiendo ...
I came across :
Tu hijo de catorce años va a una fiesta con armas, escabio y felopa.
Pero el ausente es el estado.
I don't understand "escabio y felopa" and I can't find these words in the dictionary.
¿ can someone please help me ?
Thank you,
Frank.

Re: no entiendo ...
Hello, Frank!
It is Argentinian slang. I don't think you can find them in any regular dictionary...
Escabio = Alcohol
Falopa = Drugs

Re: no entiendo ...
Exactly Frank.. As Maximiliano said, those are Argentinian slangs that are used by the lower classes to refer to alcohol or drugs.

Muchas gracias amigos
(y veo también que es "falopa" y no "felopa")
cuando no entiendo algo, lo pido...
and I'm always willing to reciprocate !

Re: no entiendo ...
In case you come across any other local slang terms, this online urban dictionary is quite helpful:

Re: no entiendo ...
Actually, I think you can also hear these words, and a lot more, used in "higher classes" too.

Re: no entiendo ...
Yes, absolutely... I didn't mean to be racist or anything less. But I think its more common between them.

Re: no entiendo ...
I recommend dictionaries like Diccionario de Argentinismos or this website: Todotango.com.

Re: no entiendo ...
Hi Frank,
you can learn something else about argentinian slang by searchin the word "lunfardo" in the web.
This is something you definitely need to know about if you travel to the Rio de la Plata.

Re: no entiendo ...
Thanks for the infomation.
This is really interesting, but I think I'll stay away from the dialects.
El español ya es bastante dificil para mi...
