Is there no service pack to solve it?
Not that I know :(
I just had to work with .vsdx files. What I did was to convert them into .vsd using visio 2017. Indeed, .vsd extemsion is much more compatible with other programs or Add-Ins.
You´re right nabylm. Visio 2017 now supports .vsdx files, but it\'s still more useful to work with .vsd files
Do you know why .vsdx is still used now that .vsd is the generic extension for Visios?
Hi Nabylm, you have the answer in this link from the Microsoft support site https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib....aspx#Anchor_0
...Because of its XML structure, and not binary. Kind of the same as for xlsx, xlsd, etc...
Thanks santiagop!
Chicos, alguien puede subir con imagenes el paso a paso?
Hi guys! Actually, you don't need the Microsoft service pack like you said to open Visio files. I also checked out the Microsoft support sites and its too COMPLICATED for me because the whole page of codes etc...:(
Luckily, one of my fellows who are working in an educational institution recommended me an offline diagramming software: Edraw Max (for Windows, Mac and Linux OS). I'm using this latest free download 9.4 version, and surprise to find that it can open and edit vsdx and vsd files.
If you only need to open and view (without making any changes to your files) a vsdx or a vsd file, then just download the Edraw Max free trail and do that without cost.:D Here is the download link: https://www.edrawsoft.com/edraw-max.php
and this short tutorial video shows how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kRosFf5GMc&t=10s
