Do you know how I can work at home with translating?

I mean, like for future reference, since I'm inexperienced now. I heard how some people have work at home translation jobs. How do I go about doing that?

I mean, where I can work online (translate online). I'm here in the US. But if they don't have any companies here in the US, is it possible that I can work/translate from companies of foreign countries? If so, how can I go about doing that & what requirements do I have to meet?

You can work at home, no matter where you live.
Requirements vary. Some companies request for registered translators. Others ask that you use translation software (TRADOS, Wordfast, etc.)
But, above all, you will be asked for experience in one or more of the main fields: legal, medicine and health, engineering, human resources, travel and tourism, business, finance, marketing, etc.

Hugocar summed it up pretty well. Having as much academic and practical experience in your particular field as well as knowledge of CAT tools and computer programs will definitely help. Start looking through agencies and networking to develop a client base. There are a tonof translation companies in the U.S. and abroad and like hugocar says, each may have their own requirements.
