Can you give us more detailed explanation of your problem?
Have you added Hindi to your OS?
What is the format of your source document?
Re: Help needed....in omegat
i have translated (Google did it in fact ;) ) some office documents form english to hindi. In order to get hindi displayed on OmegaT y have to install font compatibilities in windows, maybe that helps...
Re: Help needed....in omegat
Hi,
By following the beginners instructions, I've downloaded and installed Java, Omegat and Open Office. I created an Open Office file for translation. In Omegat, I selected source language as EN and target language as HI. When I opened my file for translation, I'm unable to translate it in Hindi. Both the fonts appear to be in English. If I select a Hindi font from options the entire content in edit pane appears to be in Hindi.
Now how can I solve this font problem? As I'm a freelance tanslator I'm using almost all the Hindi fonts.
What to do with glossaries? How can I translate it?
Regards
mera

Mera,
If you change the font type under OPTIONS in Omegat what you are doing is changing the font of the editor panel, not in the target file. You need to use an OS that is compatible with Hindi characters. Actually your keyboard should be configured for those characters. If you are using Windows go to Control panel/regional and language options... I would start there. If your odt file shows funny characters, select the text and apply a Hindi font.
Re: Help needed....in omegat
I just replicated your options with an ODT file and OmegaT. I copied some Hindi characters from the internet, I "translated" my odt file with OT pasting those characters in the target segments and it worked. The problem is that your keyboards have to type Hindi characters.
