Hi Emily!!
I'd definitely go to Salta or Jujuy. I´ve been there as a kid and really liked it.
In the summer, you´ll have the chance to see the carnivals! They are full of colors!!
Hope you enjoy it too, Emily!
Hi,
I have been in Salta and Jujuy in May and local people told me that's really hot in summer 40ºC, but scenery is spectacular!!!! Take your time to visit Purmamarca, Tilcara, Humahuaca and Cachi, Iruya, Cafayate in Salta... you'll have a great time!!!

I really want to hit up some beaches this summer in Argentina. I've heard that you have to book NOW, though, if you want anything in the next 6 months
Any suggestions on not-ridiculous places to go???
Thanks!
thanks guys for the great responses. im getting very excited! how did you guys travel???
carlam,
i think it depends who you are going with and what type of vacation. I have been to a few beaches on the coast of Argentina. I went to Mar de Plata with friends and San Bernardo/Pinamar with my boyfriend. Mar de Plata and Pinamar were very busy, Pinamar being much more pretty, but if you are looking for relaxing and not such a huge nightlife, San Bernardo and that area is pretty cute.
I highly recommend the two sites mentioned above. La Cumbrecita is a typical German aldea, and Salta...well, what can I say of Salta la linda!:p
Yes, Sabrina! Besides La Cumbrecita, there's another German-like village in Córdoba called Villa General Belgrano... so cute!! Check it out when you have the chance...
I've never been to Salta and Jujuy. My parents were there on December, 30 years ago and they will never forget that it was 50+ degrees C. They had 1st degree burns and everything.
If you really want to enjoy the North of Argentina (and take advantange of the low season rates), go there from April to June.
:-D
I'm going to Córdoba next weekend!!!! Besides Villa General Belgrano, do you know others beautiful places to visit?
Thanks EmilyB for the suggestions! Yeah, I am planning something, or trying to plan something for my cousin and I... I think I will definitly look into San Bernardo.
Hi Ali! In Córdoba I suggest you to see: Villa General Belgrano, Capilla del Monte, Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, La Cumbre, Villa Carlos Paz, Nicho Cruz, La Falda, Cosquin, among others...
Carla: Go to San Bernardo ONLY if you like to feel like in a music concert... it's always so full of people that you might feel like back in BA... Just like the main beaches in Mar del Plata...
But if you want to relax, i'd tell you to go to a place like Mar de Ajo or La Lucila. They are both next to San Bernardo and they have a lot less people, so there is more beach to enjoy... and if you want to party, you can always go to Sanber at night =)
Thanks a bunch, Nadia!!! You are awesome!!!!! :)
You´re welcome, Ali!!!
Ali, when you have the chance, tell us what you got to see in Cba...
Yes, of course!! I really enjoy it!
Cordoba (capital) it's a peaceful place with beautiful parks, museums and restaurants.
I went to Carlos Paz too, it's a great place to visit. It is a very small city and I recommend it if you want a place to rest!! :)
Maybe for the next trip I will try to stay there a little bit longer, so then I will be able to visit other places.
Hi Ali!
Glad you like it!
Nadia, I see that you really know your way around Cordoba. I remember visiting a town near Carlos Paz that has a roofed street (yes! like VEGAS!!)
So what's the name of that town? I can't seem to remember its name...
Thank you!!
Victoria, I never heard of such a place...
I'll ask my friends and let you know...
