Justamente yo estoy investigando traductología y en mis lecturas sobre la historia y la evolución de la traducción y la interpretación en el mundo, China se ha destacado notablemente por su capacidad de exploración del mundo y su compilación prolija de toda la información que conocía mediante sus expediciones. Por guerras o problemas políticos, mucha información se perdió o se destruyó y las traducciones no destruidas y recuperadas han jugado una función vital en la reconstrucción de varias páginas de la historia que se creían perdidas para siempre.
