Neural networks technology
Hello,
Has some analyzed the results of one of the tools that use neural networks for machine translation?
Here is an interesting article to start reading about it.

Re: Neural networks technology
Interesting danielr. A "spider web" type of machine translation software is already used I think. Mimicking the brain's network is widely used nowadays, in a whole set of different fields. It's being improved every day. It's just a matter of time before a server steals our desks;) .
Re: Neural networks technology
Jajajaja, a software "learns". I know many people who find that activity almost impossible!!
Re: Neural networks technology
And there is a term related to this "zero shot translation". Have you heard about it?
Re: Neural networks technology
oh yeah! That's basically how good are your "neuron-like" connections are in your translating machine. So if you want to translate from japanese into Spanish, and the machine has no history of translation in that language pair, but does in japanese to english and english to Spanish, it will automatically use english a relay language to provide a japanese to spanish translation. That's one more "cognitive" action a machine would be capable of.... Dont freak out danielr, that's progress;)
Re: Neural networks technology
Have you seen the results? I haven't had the chance to try one of those engines.
Re: Neural networks technology
Me neither! Which one would you recommend for a trial?
Re: Neural networks technology
I really like this thread! It's Fascinating what can be done this days.
That I know of, Google Translate has been using this technology for a year or so.

That being noted, I don't think it has gone that far yet.
Good news is, the world will still be needing human translators.
Re: Neural networks technology
Quite interesting! I'm just exploring the question "Can machines replace humans?"
Here's an interesting article https://medium.com/@pickwriters/mach...k-d18b3cf51d69 that explains a lot.
