New kid on the way
Hey all.
I just found the forums today. I am looking forward to interacting with everyone. I took 3 years of spanish in High School. Have forgotten a lot of it, but my wife is 6 months pregnant, and I would like to pass on some spanish to my new son. We have some hispanic friends, so that should help.
What I will need special help with will be determining what is used locally ... or at least when a certain word is used. I'll post an example in another post.

Re: New kid on the way
Welcome to this forum, Mark:
The question should be what suggestions do you have so that we can help you improve your Spanish. Although the forum is mostly for Spanish translators, we can help you with your forgotten Spanish.
And I say "suggestions" because it is important to think of the fact that using your knowledge of the language in speech(maybe your Hispanic friends can become a workable solution) has a pivotal role in your goals concerning Spanish improvement.
Perhaps we can help you mainly with grammatical aspects.
I teach Spanish as a second language, and the story is nearly always the same: many go to High School and take some Spanish but it is forgotten eventually, to the degree that the vast majority have had to learn it by starting from scratch.
Regards,
