Hacer público
Al contrario, editó e hizo públicas sus conclusiones y estudios en medios y foros especializados, y buscó el consejo en las voces más autorizadas de la cartografía.
My attempt:
On the contrary, he published and announced his conclusions and studies in specialized media and forums, and he looked for advice of the most authorized voices of the cartography

Re: Hacer público
Hi Sol,
Is this part of the same text we were discussing in the other post?
On the contrary, he edited and announced his conclusions and studies in specialized media and forums, and he looked for advice of the "most authorized voices" (that sounds too literal to me) of the cartography
Are these sentences coming from Biografia Fundacion Gimenez Lorente ?
Nico.

Re: Hacer público
I agree. It sounds too literal.
Yes. These sentences are coming from that web page. You hit the nail on the head.

Re: Hacer público
The verb to break is used to express something that is made publicly known: "Quite the contrary, he published and broke his conclusions..." this way you emphasize that, instead of hiding them, he expressly made them publicly known.

Re: Hacer público
"Break" is used with news, as in "She broke the news to him gently." TV stations like to refer to "breaking news", i.e. a report on a situation that is currently unfolding. But I don't think "breaking conclusions" sounds right. A conclusion is something arrived at after consideration, and "break" is used to imply that the information is new.
My try:
On the contrary, he published and advertised his studies and conclusions in specialized media and forums, and searched for advice from leading experts in cartography.
(I changed the order of "studies and conclusions" because conclusions come after the studies, so this order seems more logical.)
