It's none of my business, but the only Salta that comes to mind is in northern Argentina. If you're talking about Argentina, look into the province of Tierra del Fuego.
hahaha... You're right Thomas! I guess Diego just set it as an example.Quote:

Thomas, you are right, Salta is in Argentina and I made a silly mistake:confused: . Of course Salta is the northernmost province in the country.
Thanks again.

I clicked the link and the only Argentine province mentioned in that article is Usuahia, which would be ok right?
[quote=pames]Mi pregunta es sobre la expresión: The World's most southern (un título de Wikipedia cuyo link incluí)Quote:

Hola Mem,
Apparently Wikipedia is right, jajaja. However, I looked up "northermost" in a dictionary and there is an example that reads "the northernrmost city of the country", as Thomas suggested.
The point is that I would have never come up with that word...
Have a nice Monday, bye

Not a thing wrong with either sentence so take your pick but I would guess that "southernmost" is the choice of most native speakers.
Southernmost clearly indicates the city's geographical position.
However, while "most southern" certainly can mean a geographical position it can also refer to the city's cultural nature, i.e., it's southern heritage and customs.
To explain my meaning for those who are not that familiar with the U.S. there is a distinct cultural difference between Deep South states and the rest of the country which lingers from pre-Civil War days so it might be said that a city in a southern state like Georgia or Mississippi is "very southern" or "most southern" or "the most southern" in its customs and attitudes.
Crystal clear my friend! Thank you very, very much!;)
