It's these phrases that I thought I knew that cause me the most problems. And I've decided I really don't know dichos ambitos at all.

OK. Here's more. This is an essay on Frida Kahlo. I tried to translate it as "To illustrate the fact that in the first years of the 90s in said circles, unequivocal signs..." since the words "circulos artisticos" had already been used. But it can be translated a lot of ways. When I Google it, this same phrase pops up in a lot of contexts.


La excesiva comercialización que se ha estado llevando a cabo en los últimos dos decenios, ha conducido en México a un repudio casi irracional de la artista. Thank you. It's hard to understand how I could get so lost, but I first translated it "In the first years of the range of 90 under discussion" or something like that. The dictionaries were no help at all.
