Methapor Translation
Hi to everyone. I'm looking forward to translate a methapor I read on a book.
Not just translate it literally, but something that gives it the same meaning that it has in spanish.
Después de mucho tiempo, ya le dieron luz verde al proyecto.
Anyone has an idea? :confused::confused:

Re: Methapor Translation
I don't know what other meaning it could have in Spanish but to me it's: "It took awhile but they finally gave the project the green light."

Re: Methapor Translation
Sure, thats the literal translation... I mean to ask if "gave the project the green light" means the same thing, like allowing it.

Re: Methapor Translation
Yes, of course. It's a common saying in the U.S. To give it the green light, as in a semáforo, is to give it the OK to go ahead, to proceed, to do something.

Thanks Vicente for clarifiying it :)
As always, a pleasure.
