Apparent idiomatic expression involving the words "en conciliación"
Hello,
I have a text here that simply does not make sense, or at the very least there is something implied here that I am not getting, and the dictionary resources that I have consulted do not help. Here is the paragraph:
The problem I am having here is that the expression "convertida en conciliacion" does not make sense to me in this context. A literal translation, such as "converted into conciliation" appears nonsensical, but I cannot think of how I should translate this otherwise. Any ideas?
Re: Apparent idiomatic expression involving the words "en conciliación"
In U.S. courts there is a process called a Conciliation Hearing that is a method of helping the parties in a dispute to reach agreement, especially in divorces in order to help couples to part amicably.
Perhaps the country (Mexico?) where the case resides might have such a process. I'm not a legal translator but the term "convertida en conciliation" means to me that the evidence has likely been sent to such a conciliation hearing to determine if opposing parties can reach agreement on its admissibility in court, i.e., "is in conciliation"

Where is everybody? Are there any other opinions? Maybe from one of our members who do legal translations? I wouldn't want to provide bad advice if I am wrong. Give us some help here!!:o

Hola a ambos.
