How do you spell this word?
Hi, all. We were recently in Playa del Carmen and one of the waiters made a cute little bug out of palm leaves. He went up to my brother and poked him in the belly with the "toy" (like you would do when tickling a baby) and said, "Kadeek a deek!" Or something similar. It was hilarious, we loved it, but now we want to know what it means and how to spell it. Can you help?
Re: How do you spell this word?
Well, no. Even though I remember a waiter in Playa del Carmen crazy enough to act exactly like that. It could be just a noise, but maybe it was “te pica, te pica” – it’s gonna bite you. The soft Spanish T can sound like D to English ears. Click here: YouTube - ‪Notch - Que te Pica‬‏ and see if it sounds similar.

What's that language? Is it Spanish or Italian?
Re: How do you spell this word?
Oops. Spanglish. I reached for anything that had those words, and I didn’t get the best example. But in my defense, around Cozumel, people interchange English and Spanish.
Something else the waiter may have said was cuídate – watch out or cuidado, pica - watch out, it bites.
