left, right and centre/on yet another
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if you can help me with these two phrases I find quite confusing. It is about communictaion.
1) Another problem is simply hitting the "reply all" buttom, bombarding people with information. We had unstructured data coming at staff from left, right and centre, leaving it up to the individuals to sort out
Hemos desestructurado la informaciòn que llega al personal ????
2) Sending such people (staff) on yet another "How to communicate" course will be pointeless
Enviar al personal a hacer un curso sobre "como comunicar"es estèril
I can't not understand the use fo YET in this sentence.
Thanks a lot,
Diego
Re: left, right and centre/on yet another
Hi Diegonel, here's my attempt.
1)Otro problema surge simplemente porque se presiona el botón "Responder a todos", bombardeando a la gente con información. Nuestro personal ha tenido (o quizás, tiene) que habérselas con cantidad de datos desestructurados que le llegan de todas partes, y que está obligado a clasificar (o elegir).
2) Enviar al personal a hacer un curso más sobre "Cómo comunicar" ... etc.
I thind "yet" in this case implies repetition. (They must already have attended such courses)
I hope this helps!
Olga

Re: left, right and centre/on yet another
thanks Olga, I took UNSTRUCTURED as a verb, and apparently it's an adjective modifying DATA
Re: left, right and centre/on yet another
Hi diego, I think "yet" here is just to emphasize another course. Also, I would not use the word estéril here. Rather I would say "no tiene sentido" or "es inútil"
