If by "behalf" you mean "representing", I'd say "en nombre de"
if on the other hand you mean "in support of", I'd say "a favor de"
Sorry, don't know any books about improving your business Spanish. I'm sure you can find samples of business letters in Spanish on the web though.
Re: Es - A peticion de or me ha pedido
Here are different examples,
A solicitud de (name), le informo such and such
Por petición de (name), le informo such and such
A nombre de (name), le envío such and such
En representación de (company name or group of people), permítame informarle
In a signature you may use,
En ausencia de (name)
(your name)
En representación de (name)
(your name)
Let us have the whole sentence, to let you know which one better applies.:)
Re: Es - A peticion de or me ha pedido
In English I would have written:
On behalf of Mr. Rivas, I am sending you the Price List addendum for Fiscal Year 2010.
The addendum reflects only new product.
I translated it as:
Adjunto encontraras una adición de productos a la lista de precios anteriormente presentadas.
El archivo solo incluye los productos respecto de los cuales se realiza la adición.
Re: Es - A peticion de or me ha pedido
En nombre del Sr. Rivas, adjunto a la presente, sírvase encontrar el addendum a la Lista de Precios para el Año Fiscal del 2010. El archivo únicamente ennumera los nuevos productos agregados a la lista.
Another option should be
Por instrucciones del Sr. Rivas, adjunto …
It depends on the way you address your client, No. I meant, the way you relate to Mr. Rivas, that's it.:)

Thank you Benilde, that does sound a lot better than my translation.
