I'm translating a fragment from the text "To kill a mocking bird" and I haven't been able to translate the following sentence into Spanish
"Walter looked as if he had been raised on fish food"
Does anyone of you have a clue of how to translate it?

The word "fish" can be translated in Spanish as either "pescado" or "pez", depending on whether the fish is dead or alive. I considered the possibility that "fish food" referred to pet fish food, in which case Sandra's translation wouldn't stand. Looking at the full sentence from the original, however, makes me agree with her.
The full sentence is:
Walter looked as if he had been raised on fish food: his eyes, as blue as Dill Harris's, were red-rimmed and watery.
