the clatter of bolts
Hi!
I am trying to translate this phase from English into Spanish.
The immediate context is:
"I climbed the five flights to her floor, paused to catch my breath, and then knocked. An eye looked through te peephole in the door, there was a clatter of bolts being turned."
My best attempt is: "se oyó el resonar del cerrojo al girar."
Can anybody hep me?
Thanks!!

Re: the clatter of bolts

Re: the clatter of bolts
Hi guys :)
Either pestillo or cerrojo is a correct translation for bolt in this sentence. As the original refers to more than one bolt, I'd say:

Re: the clatter of bolts

CLARA,
I THINK YOUR TRANSLATION IS OK. YOU COULD EVEN ADD " SE OYÓ EL RESONAR DEL CERROJO AL GIRAL LA LLAVE"
RUIDO/RUIDO METÁLICO COULD ALSO GO
CERRADURA IS ANOTHER OPTION.
