Only one more thing.. you say you are generally more direct here in Europe - but will it still sound polite if one removes the part "Podría tener su autorización.."?
It seemed to me like a nicer way to ask ...but then again, I don't speak Spanish!
Maybe I could add por favor in the beginning?

Yes, just add por favor at the beginning or the end. We would not say the authorization part unless it is for an official issue.
