violencia en periodos de noviazgo y personas que están siendo asechadas.
Does periodos de noviazgo mean periods of contact, reconciliation?
The dictionary defines noviazgo as engagement. Would that be a marriage engagement?
Is siendo asechadas spelled wrong? Would people who are feeling trapped be the correct translation?
Re: found in newspaper article on domestic violence
Períodos de noviazgo are the "dating periods", in some regions it could also mean the period in which people are already engaged.
Here, in Cuba it's common to say "somos novios" (we're dating) and "nos vamos a casar" (we're engaged) but still continue to be "novios". In some other countries people would say "estamos comprometidos" (we're engaged).
"Estar siendo acechada" means to be stalked.
hope it helps!
